Participation of female volunteers of Yeysk in the fighting of the 144th separate Marine Battalion in 1942-45.

Abstract

The task of the author of the article is to tell about the courage and selflessness of the volunteer girls who were called up from the city of Yeysk, and participated in the fighting of the 144th separate battalion of the Marine Corps. Considerable attention was paid to the study of memoir literature and documentary sources about the combat operations of the units of the 83rd Marine Brigade during the Great Patriotic War. This article uses archival documents on awards and losses of personnel of the 144th Marine Battalion for the period 1942-45. The little-known facts presented in the article will be of interest to students-historians and specialists studying the history of the marine units of the Black Sea and Azov flotillas during the Great Patriotic War.
