Combat activity of Northern Fleet pilots during the Great Patriotic War.

In this work, the author showed the beginning of the process of formation of the Northern sea fleet, difficulties in its creation in 1936.the problems associated with a small amount of equipment and low flight qualities of aircraft were revealed. The important role of the commander of the SF air force, brigade commander Alexander Kuznetsov in equipping and training the fleet on the eve of the war was noted. The author has identified the features of the combat operation of aviation in the Arctic during the great Patriotic war, its activities in escorting and covering convoys with lend-lease. Attention was focused on the fate of twice hero of the Soviet Union Safonov Boris Feoktistovich, an outstanding Soviet pilot.
