In the article, the author covers the tragic events that took place in Rostov-on-Don during the Great Patriotic War. The fighting of the Soviet troops on the defense of the city, two German occupation, during which the Germans established their order, carrying out brutal massacres of Soviet citizens, is shown.
Special attention is paid to the process of reconstruction and revival of the city after the war, problems that stood in the way of reconstruction of Rostov-on-Don stand out. The purpose of the work was to show the severe consequences of the German-fascist occupation, the unwavering spirit of Soviet people, their love for their native city, which helped to restore the destroyed Rostov-on-Don.
The relevance of this article is beyond doubt, as 2020 is recognized as the "Year of Remembrance and Glory" in honor of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
