Yeisk military aviation school during the Great Patriotic War.

Abstract

The article deals with important pages in the history of the city of Yeysk during the great Patriotic war, the main moments of the fight against the enemy in the sea of Azov and the significance of the city's defense in the plans of the high command and the system of defensive actions of the red army, aviation and the Azov military flotilla. Special attention is paid to the combat activities of cadets and graduates of the aviation school, who participated in the fight against the enemy on various fronts, showing courage and heroism in the defense of the Fatherland. Using archival documents, materials on the history of the school, research by historians, the author tells about the fate of Lieutenant p. Ulyanov, captain G. I. Agafonov, Hero of the Soviet Union major General A. V. Lyapidevsky and other pilots, many of whom died defending their Homeland.
