Krymchak Cultural Objects in Museum Collections: History of Collections.

Abstract

The article considers the history of the formation of Krymchaks           ethnographic collections in Russian museums. Krymchaks are indigenous ethnic groupof the Crimea, but also a small people, only a small part of which managed to survive during the Nazi occupation. Krymchaks have a rich and original culture in which you can see a synthesis of Jewish and Turkic traditions. Since the 90’s of the last century, a period of "national revival" began for the indigenous peoples of Crimea, in which the main role is assigned to the preservation of cultural identity. Objects of culture and everyday life of Krymchaks in museum collections are an invaluable source for studying and preserving the heritage of this endangered ethnic group. The article considers the collections of three museums, which, in our     opinion, have the most interesting collection of Krymchaks objects from a          scientific and exposition point of view: the Russian Ethnographic Museum, the Crimean Ethnographic Museum, the People's Historical and Ethnographic Museum of Krymchaks named after I.V. Achkinazi and the Central Museum of Taurida. The author traced the history of the study of cultural objects and everyday life of the Krymchaks, the main ways of forming collections and their modern state.
